Welcome to DIVE IN, our new weekly blog focused on diversity, inclusion, value and equality (DIVE) which are core tenets to our culture. As we mentioned in last week’s blog, this blog series is our pledge to explore the topics and issues that will only help breathe more diversity and inclusion into our workplace and bring to light the biases, sensitivities and issues that may inhibit us to reach that truly inclusive culture.

Being transparent and hitting the tough topics head-on is critical. We will practice ‘getting comfortable being uncomfortable’ to learn and spread awareness on the topics hindering an inclusive workforce that embraces diversity. This will also be a venue for us to share updates on DIVE at Blue Yonder and how we are advancing against our stated OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) which are to create an inclusive culture and to increase the diversity of our workforce. Simply stated, we must do more, and we must do better in these areas.

As the champion for our associates’ success, diversity and inclusion are close to my heart and always top of mind. Only through harnessing the power of diverse backgrounds, talents and experiences can we adapt and thrive as a company. We have a responsibility to our customers to seek to understand how we can best support them – which I believe can only be achieved through different viewpoints channeled through diversity. We have a responsibility to each other, to learn, respect and embrace differences. We are better as a company by enabling all associates to be authentic. Creating an environment of openness and belonging will continue to be at the top of our agenda.

We’re looking forward to bringing this series to life by driving awareness and education on topics like mental health, ‘hidden’ disabilities, unconscious bias, access and advancement, belonging and allyship, and fostering an inclusive environment. We’ll also feature associates and industry leaders alike on the ways they are driving awareness and championing diversity and inclusion because learning from others is especially important and we love to highlight those that are making a difference.

Open dialogue. Candid conversations. Please join us for our blog series, and feel free to comment here, or on our social media channels like LinkedIn, Twitter and Instagram.
