Today is National Supply Chain Day when we celebrate all things supply chain! The day was first declared in 2020 during the start of the COVID-19 pandemic when supply chains were thrust onto the world scene. Those two words became what everyone was talking about for the next couple of years – and continues to be even today.

The tagline for the day is “Every link in the supply chain matters,” which emphasizes how import each piece of the supply chain is from the raw materials to the transportation element to manufacturing to the labor to omni-channel commerce. When one link is effected, it impacts the whole supply chain as we have seen with the constant disruptions that have taken place in recent times including the recent Baltimore bridge collapse and raw materials shortages.
