July 25 is National Intern Day. At Blue Yonder, we offer a rewarding, immersive program that enables students to gain valuable professional skills and industry knowledge, as well as hands-on experience in supply chain management and technology solutions. Their unique perspectives and contributions to real-world business challenges and customer projects have a meaningful impact on our company’s operations and strategy and help us build the next generation of Blue Yonder associates. We asked our recent interns about the importance of internships and what they have learned from their experiences at Blue Yonder. Below are some of the responses they shared with us:

Veenasree Ramisetty
“Internships are crucial to me because I think they bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world application. Despite extensive studies in school, I believe that true learning occurs when we apply knowledge hands-on. I am thrilled to have had this opportunity with Blue Yonder, where I am gaining invaluable real-world experience. During my internship, I have been working on a generative AI use case, which involves automatically generating visualizations from a dataset based on user prompts. This has allowed me to gain real-world experience with Azure OpenAI Services, large language models (LLMs), and API key integrations. I am excited to continue developing this use case and furthering my skills.”

Brian Mendes
“Internships are key to professional growth, giving you hands-on experience, and a real look into the industry. My time at Blue Yonder has been amazing, I’ve learned so much about teamwork, tackling problems and always staying curious. This journey has really boosted my confidence and skills.”

Ethan Wiley
“Internships are important as they offer the chance to develop invaluable problem-solving skills in real-world scenarios, which can’t be fully experienced in a classroom. During my internship at Blue Yonder, I’ve had the privilege of connecting with company leaders and learning from their experiences. Internships provide the opportunity to bring these valuable insights back to school or into my future career.”

Seth Rice Nulty
“The best parts of my internship at Blue Yonder have been the support I’ve received from my team and the hands-on opportunities I’ve been given. Learning from highly experienced professionals and contributing meaningfully to state-of-the-art software solutions has provided an incredibly formative start to my career in software engineering. I have been equipped with skills and confidence that I will carry into future professional endeavors. However, being an intern at Blue Yonder goes beyond simply gaining exposure to current development practices and tools; it’s about discovering how to add value to an existing team and solutions.”

Garima Rahangdale
“This internship at Blue Yonder has helped me broaden my knowledge and understanding in the software development domain. From seeing the tech that goes behind building a product to learning interpersonal skills, I believe internships are very important in one’s career and shape them to be future leaders.”

Aishwariya Ranjan
“I believe internships are very important because they provide hands-on experience and real-world insights that are often not covered in academic settings. My internship at Blue Yonder exemplifies this perfectly! I’ve had the incredible opportunity to learn holistically, not just through hands-on projects, but also by interacting with executives who have generously shared their insights. This blend of practical and strategic learning has helped me understand the industry from different perspectives while also clarifying how I want to shape my career moving forward.”

Kanangat Sidhartha Nambiar
“As I’ve spent these summer months at Blue Yonder, I’ve been fortunate to work alongside talented professionals who have empowered me to grow. The supportive environment and guidance have been invaluable, helping me develop both professionally and personally. The python tool that I have developed is going to be a great asset in streamlining SyncX connectivity checks, and the team’s mentorship and encouragement have been crucial. Experiences like these remind me of the importance of internships in shaping a student’s journey and providing a precedent for what a positive work culture looks like.”
