Innovation and Customer-Centricity are Our Continuing Directions

Thanks to our TMS customers, for the 12th time 1 in a row, Blue Yonder is named a Leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Transportation Management Systems (TMS) report2.

Customer-Centric Journeys

Blue Yonder attributes its position as a Leader to its strengths and cautions in market understanding, operations and marketing execution, among other criteria. We believe this placement is possible because of the ability to accelerate our customers’ digital transportation journeys – and the innovative culture at Blue Yonder.

This is an example of what our valued customers are saying about our solution:

“As the transportation and logistics industry continues to transform, in tandem with sales volume growth in certain regions, we need to make sure we are supporting that growth with improved responsiveness, while remaining efficient. By integrating Blue Yonder’s transportation management with track and trace capabilities, Bayer’s ability to serve our customers improved through the increased visibility into our transportation decisions,” said Johnny Ivanyi, Global Head of Distribution Excellence, Bayer Crop Science.

Value Focus

In addition, according to the Gartner Critical Capabilities for Transportation Management Systems report3, Blue Yonder ranked highest for Level 3 Use Case and second highest for Level 2, 4, and 5 Use cases. We attributed this success to our product, service, and support teams, who are focused on meeting our customers’ requirements today and in the future. Our TMS offering helps customers improve customer service, sustainability, cost-to-serve, and labor retention.

Bayer Crop Science’s Johnny Ivanyi discusses the results his company has achieved with our TMS:

“Blue Yonder’s transportation management solution is increasing visibility and helping Bayer make fact-based, strategic decisions in North America, Latin America, Europe, and Asia Pacific. As a result, we’ve reduced our overall transportation spend by 3-5%. We expect even greater savings as our maturity increases.”

In addition, the solution enables the company to achieve other key benefits simultaneously, he added, “Blue Yonder’s transportation management solution has helped Bayer improve our asset utilization by 7% — by maximizing truck capacity and eliminating 1.4 million miles traveled in Brazil alone. As we decrease the number of miles traveled and the number of trucks on the road, we expect Bayer’s CO2 emissions to also decrease significantly.

To help accelerate their digital journey, our customers challenge us to step up our innovation game. Their trust in our ability to solve their increasingly complex challenges makes us their long-term partners in their transformative journeys to gain lasting competitive advantage, operational optimization, and automation capabilities to counter supply chain disruptions and satisfy customer requirements in the new customer-centric world.

Innovation as the First Priority

As supply chain footprints change to fit the customer-centric era, our customers are looking to improve service levels, time-to-value, and cost-to-serve, while embracing a modern SaaS landscape. In response, as a long-term partner committed to our customers, Blue Yonder is bringing innovative capabilities to support their digital initiatives, including:

  • Optimization and artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) capabilities for routing, transit time, palletization, and sustainability improvements, as well as predictive ETA/PTA, carrier risk and transportation performance analytics.
  • Cohesive out-of-the-box first-, middle- and last-mile solutions, such as large-scale parcel execution performance and rating improvements.
  • Carrier network and marketplace solutions for optimizing common carriers, parcel carriers, and fleets.
  • Lightweight planning and shipment execution with simplified configurations.
  • Partners who can help customers find and implement the right Blue Yonder solutions.

As customers need to leverage carriers for flexibility and price considerations, Blue Yonder has committed to growing its carrier marketplace service offerings and partner ecosystem including IoT signal providers. This in turn provides companies a valuable and customer-centric set of transportation capabilities to their internal and external customers.
