In part 1 of this blog series, you learned about the role collaborative partnerships play in supply chain planning and execution with real-time visibility and predictive analytics. Part 2 of this series will go into more detail around the benefits of the solutions offered through the JDA and TransVoyant partnership.

The Dynamic Supply Chain

JDA and TransVoyant’s collaborative partnership creates a dynamic supply chain, enabling organizations to make more active, dynamic decisions that reduce network latency, shorten cycle times and protect profit margins. There are several core capabilities that make this possible:

  • Rationalizing big data

It takes a lot of data to make a good decision. And for supply chain decision making, that can include data around unpredictable consumer behavior, traffic patterns, port behavior, severe weather, natural disasters and labor unrest. TransVoyant collects this raw data from many different global sources in various formats and levels of quality that must be normalized, cleansed and formatted in real-time, on a regular basis. JDA’s technologies and processes now ingest this real-time data for customers so they can avoid disruptions to the supply chain or deal with them in a timely manner.

  • Applying advanced analytics

Putting a comprehensive set of data feeds into the same clean and consistent format is only the first step. After that comes the continuous analysis in order to predict current and future behavior around the globe and its interaction with complex supply chains. This requires patented in-house technologies and algorithms designed to identify and isolate independent predicted behaviors that directly impact supply chain performance, while stripping out background noise.

  • Providing actionable insights

Even good insights aren’t much help if you get them too late. And while some unplanned disruptions will always occur, the emergence of newer technologies provides the ability to predict future disruptions and remediate them in advance, moving to a more proactive view of visibility.

  • Supporting intelligent actions

As good as a predictive insight may be (e.g., a predicted spike in demand in the southeast region based on real-time trending of consumer social media sentiment) it must be executed (e.g., inventory re-allocated) to deliver value to the organization.  JDA and TransVoyant have been working together for the past year to integrate our respective solutons such that TransVoyant’s real-time and predictive insights are quickly executed across the business by JDA’s supply chain planning and execution solutions.

Stay tuned for the blog 3 of the series, where we’ll discuss the benefits JDA provides. In the meantime, you can learn more about the collaborative partnership between JDA and TransVoyant here.
